Founded in 1956 in Quebec City by mister Henri Auclair and mister Jules Martineau, the Quebec-based company set up place in a small and modest house near The Huron Village of Wendake. At the time, they crafted traditional moccasins, one by one, just as their ancestors did. When, in 1995, Xavier Leclercq took over the business, the boot market started being developed under the trademark MARTINO, in honor of its founders.
In 2007, Jonathan Leclercq, son of Xavier, becomes the owner of the company. He had the ambition to export products overseas and then spread the growing popularity of MARTINO in Europe, Japan and China.
And the story continues
Over 60 years later, the team still operates its factory of Quebec City. There are now more than 90 talented people working with passion to imagine, manufacture and market high quality leather shoes, boots and accessories.
Today, Martino proudly ranks among the most reputable Canadian shoe manufacturers worldwide.
A collective creation
In 2019, over 350 pair of shoes are made every day. Each step of the process is important and linked to another. We can say that every shoe becomes, in a way, a piece of art that reflects the good work of our loyal team.
